With an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education, Katelynn brings a breadth of experience to our center. She is dedicated and passionate. Her leadership makes a strong, long lasting positive impact on the children she teaches.

Administration

With a degree in Quality Control and Quality Assurance Jody assists with managing the operations at The Nest to ensure her own kids and their peers have quality care. She spends her mornings in the classroom to get a hands on feel and her evenings managing the back end of The Nest.

Administration

Chelsea has several years of experience with early childhood education. She has reached a point in her career where she can be in and out of the classroom. She is responsible for managing the recreational center as will as assisting with The Nest.

Mickayla Cushman

Our "Baby Whisperer" with years of experience Mickayla keeps our infant program organized and ensures your baby is safe and soothed.

Infant Assistant Teacher

Katie is a volunteer at Toms Brook fire department. She is happily married to her husband Karl. Also she is a certified phlebotomist. Katie enjoys singing and dancing.

Alana

Lead Teacher

Alana is currently studying Early Childhood Development. She has several years of experience caring for children. She enjoys her free time being with her family and friends as well as spending time outside and enjoying nature. Alana is also passionate about art, movies, and spending time with her pets.

Amanda

Lead Teacher

Amanda is a wife and a mother to two amazing boys, Alex and Brandon. They also have a dog named Luke. She enjoys her days spent with her family. She is also a certified nursing assistant.  Her passion is caring for others, finding new ideas for crafts, and cooking. Her previous experiences include working with dementia patients, babysitting her friends children, as well as tending to her family and home. Her husband and children are her life.

Elizabeth Hernandez

Lead Teacher

Elizabeth has 10 years’ experience as an assistant teacher with preschoolers. She along with her husband have 5 children together. Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her family including her precious granddaughter. In her free time, she loves watching her children play soccer.

Atkinson

Lead Teacher

Tina came to Virginia many years ago by way of the military. She is a wife of 41 years and from that union came two daughters. She is also a proud grandmother of three grandchildren. Tina has been an educator in both the public and private sector for more than 30 years. She has always had a special love for children and a passion for developing the “whole child” which led her to publish several character-building children’s books. In her free time, she loves spending quality time at home with her family

Danielle Holsinger

Danielle has had previous childcare experiences and learned to realize she loves to work with young children. She wants to further her education and one day become an elementary school art teacher. Her hobbies include spending time with friends, anything artsy/crafty, and hanging out with her pets.

Caitlyn is currently working towards her degree in Early Childhood Education. She loves working with children and wants to one day teach first grade. Outside of work, Caitlyn enjoys painting, hiking, reading, and spending time with her friends and family.

Leah is a mother to a two year old boy. In her free time she enjoys cooking, hiking, going to the park with her son, and watching movies as a family. She loves kids and is passionate about child care. She looks forward to seeing that each child has a fun day at The Nest.

Chasity has several years of experience working with children and it is her favorite thing to do. She is currently in college studying dental hygiene. Chasity is hoping to become a dental hygienist at a pediatric dentist office one day. In her spare time she's either with her family or spending it with a good book!

Brooklynn Cushman

Assistant Teacher   

Growing up with seven siblings, Brooklyn has always been around children. Both her mother and sister work in the early childcare industry. As result Brooklyn has decided to follow in their footsteps. She loves working it at The Nest. In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors, painting, and drawing.

Kathryn has grown up assisting with care of her four younger siblings.  She found caring for children was a passion of hers and extended her responsibilities to family friends and we are now lucky to have her at The Nest. Her favorite hobbies include painting, reading, and volunteering at the local animal shelter.

Caitlyn is currently working towards her degree in Early Childhood Education. She loves working with children and wants to one day teach first grade. Outside of work, Caitlyn enjoys painting, hiking, reading, and spending time with her friends and family.

Kerrigan 
Copeland

Assistant Teacher 

 Kerrigan enjoys in helping the newer generation learn and adapt to new things. Her previous experience includes working with kids through her church as well as watching her younger cousins. Kerrigan studied cosmetology in high school, and she’s currently advancing her education to be an esthetician. In her free time she loves being outside and hanging with her friends. She also enjoys painting and doing crafts. Kerrigan loves working at the nest and getting to know all the children.

Mckenzie

Assistant Teacher 

Mckenzie previously worked with kids in her church as well as assisted a kindergarten teacher. Her mother has also worked in the education system. In her free time, she loves to be outdoors working in her flower garden or kayaking with family. She currently pursuing a degree in psychology and hoping one day to get a master’s degree in social work. Her plan is to pursue a career in the foster care system. Mckenzie’s goal working at the nest is to ensure all children are safe, learning, and enjoying their day.

Haley has several years of experience working with children. She also has younger siblings that she’s always around. In her free time she enjoys hiking, or being around her family and friends. Haley also loves to travel, or go on road trips when she gets the chance.
